What to gather before design begins.

Not every item applies to every project. Bring what you have — missing information is tracked as an assumption or clarification item.

  1. 01Architectural background drawings (DWG preferred, PDF accepted)
  2. 02Electrical, mechanical and fire-protection drawings, if available
  3. 03Project specifications, including Division 26/28 sections
  4. 04Addenda, bulletins and any issued RFI responses
  5. 05Jurisdiction and adopted code edition, if known
  6. 06Preferred or specified equipment manufacturer
  7. 07Existing fire alarm panel and device information for renovations
  8. 08Elevator, HVAC, smoke-control and access-control interface requirements
  9. 09Sprinkler monitoring points and riser information, if applicable
  10. 10Required deliverables, sheet format and title-block requirements
  11. 11Whether a PE review or seal is required in the jurisdiction
  12. 12Bid or permit submission date and internal review milestones
